Web Accessibility

Suppose, if you have any impairment, then you not able to use a website in a proper manner then what you can do about it?
So, don`t worry because we have a useful or helpful technology for those peoples who have some physical impairment.

Web accessibility is powerful technology when we want to make a website for those people who want to use a website.

In web accessibility, we have some broad concept such as Focus, tabindex, semantic, ARIA(Accessible Rich Internet Application),
web AIM(Accessibility in mind).

Accessibility means that the site`s content is available and its functionality can be operated by anyone(physical challenge or non-physical impairment person).

Developer's always assuming that how the users will be using the website normally keyboard, mouse, touch screen. but some users have any impairment to use the mouse. So then, the developer should make the site which perfectly works with keyboard only.

There some physical impairment, we have categories it below:
  • Visual impairment.
  • Motor impairment.
  • Hearing impairment.
  • cognitive impairment.
these above some impairment category, we discuss in detail.

Visual Impairment:
In Visual impairment, we have some few categories like no vision, low vision, blur vision, high contrast reader.

Braille Display.
Braille reader is a most helpful gadget or device or technology used by visual impairment user.

Some user does use a screen reader or braille reader to read screen text and they might use text-to-speech technology without the full-screen reader functionality or they might just use their browser zoom to make all the fonts bigger. They might also use high-contrast options like an operating system high-contrast mode, a high-contrast browser extension or a high-contrast theme for a website.

Here is also a Googler(Technical Program Manager at Google), which is facing that impairment. but its really doing a great job to make best web accessibility(must watch him!).

Some user using this above combination technology to read text on a screen.

Motor impairment:
In motor impairment, the user can prefer not to use a mouse because they have some problem or pain in physical movement or some users are suffering there paralyze physical condition, So here motor impairment accessibility useful for these users.

Motor impaiment.
Motor impairment users may use a keyboard, switch device, voice control or eye tracking devices to interact or used there system or computer.

Hearing impairment:
In Hearing Impairment, you already know what kind of physical challenge should a user have in their body.

Caption on video.
Sometime, users may have a hearing problem temporary or permanently. In that case, users should not able to hear any of videos content except text content on the internet, so we have to make sure that our videos must have CAPTION or SUBTITLE because of they very helpful to the user to relate the videos content effectively.

Users may locate in the crowd or high soundable or noise area. In those cases, users want to watch any important video content, So that they use the caption generation on video.

Cognitive impairment:
In Cognitive impairment, the user is facing trouble sometimes to remember anything, concentrating, learning new things and make a decision that should affect their everyday life cycle.

Cognitive impairment.
A user may be relate to the stress of cognitive overload, so it's obvious that if we create something that works well for someone with cognitive impairment, we're going to be creating something which is going to be a pleasant experience for everyone.
So, This is all above about impairment which users facing and we have to make a clear road map for these kinds of users to use the web effectively.
